Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps where several major alpine passes meet, Andermatt is surrounded by dramatic high-mountain terrain. The Andermatt–Sedrun–Disentis Ski Area offers excellent pistes, accessible off-piste powder, classic ski touring routes, and steep alpine descents. Lift-access powder terrain around Gemsstock and Nätschen is perfect for building confidence in variable snow.
Ski touring
Short skins from the lifts lead to quiet bowls, with longer tours extending into the Gotthard Pass region.
Steep terrain
Classic descents drop from Gemsstock into the Guspis Valley and Felsental, offering steeper lines for adventurous skiers.
What's included
Your trip includes guiding, self catered apartment, half board accommodation in the hut and transport locally. We handle the logistics so you can concentrate on the adventure.

Not Included: Travel to/from Andermatt, lift pass, insurance, lunches, evening meals, ski touring and mountaineering equipment.
Travel Suggestion: Andermatt is located in the heart of the Swiss Alps and is easily accessible by Switzerland’s excellent rail network. Fly into Zurich Airport, take the to Andermatt (approx. 2–2.5 hours) via Göschenen.

Find our ‘ski legs’, get comfortable with our group, practice use of safety equipment, and size up the off piste terrain

Days 1–3: Ski Coaching & Freeride around Andermatt
These first three days focus on developing strong skiing skills while exploring the varied lift-access terrain.
Develop on-piste and off-piste technique
Improve balance, edge control, and dynamic skiing on varied pistes.
Build confidence in powder and mixed snow conditions.
Freeride skills
Route choice and terrain reading.
Efficient movement through variable snow.
Safe group travel in off-piste terrain.
Avalanche awareness
Understanding avalanche terrain.
Decision making and safe line selection.
Time will be spent exploring the best terrain around Gemsstock, widely regarded as one of the Alps’ premier lift-served freeride zones.
Days 4–6: Ski Touring from the Rotondo
The second half of the trip moves into the wild alpine terrain around the Rotondo Hut, one of the most spectacular ski touring bases in the central Swiss Alps.
Learn all aspects of ski touring
Efficient skin technique and uphill travel.
Mastering kick turns on steeper skin tracks.
Smooth transitions between climbing and skiing.
Touring objectives
Classic half-day and full-day tours from the hut.
Wide alpine bowls and long powder descents.
Decision making in avalanche terrain
Route planning and terrain assessment.
Snowpack observation and safe travel techniques.
Steeper options
For stronger groups, steeper alpine lines can be accessed using:

Participant Requirements
Fitness
You should have a basic level of fitness and be able to walk uphill for several hours.
Ski Level
You can ski comfortably on most on piste terrain. We welcome both intermediate and more experienced off piste skier
Equipment
Skis and boots suitable for touring are required. We are aiming for more technical objectives, so you will also need a harness, crampons and ice axe.
